Some Things Worth Mentioning.

The title of this post basically explains what I have to say. Just a few (two) things that I feel you must know!

So I read this post on Donald Miller's blog today. If you are Facebook friends with me, you have probably seen me post it, but I definitely thought it blog-worthy as well. And if you follow the blog, you must have heard me go on and on about  how much I love Donald Miller. The post is called How To Live A Great Love Story, and it focuses specifically on the women. If you haven't yet clicked it, and you are a single/unmarried girl, please do. You won't regret it. I promise.

And my other thing worth mentioning: the social network for bookworms (LIKE ME!). It's called Goodreads.com and if you have ever wanted to put all the books you are reading, have read, and want to read in one place, this is for you. Make an account, and friend me

Oh yeah, and just for laughs...

Trust in the LORD with all your heart
   and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight
Proverbs 3:5-6

Delightful.

This week and through the weekend is the NCHJA Annual Horse Show. It is certainly a great part of my summer. My mom has been organizing much of it and I came out to help last Sunday. At the Hunt Horse Complex in Raleigh the Arabian/Mini horse show was just finishing up.

 So cute!!
 Tiny horse trailer!

My sister, Olivia, and I stopped at Whole Foods on the way home last night and bought us a wonderful dinner. Though I can't remember the name, the pasta was fantastic! And we had some green bean salad on the side and Italian soda to drink.
So how about last night the Gamecocks won the COLLEGE WORLD SERIES! For the second year in a row! What a fantastic team. I am so proud to go to the University of South Carolina.

"Pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you."
2 Thessalonians 3:1

I hope you are having a great week! Happy Wednesday!

After Malison.

I am a baker! I made these incredible cupcakes yesterday. From scratch. You heard me. I got the recipe here. Look how pretty they are! I also found a ton of other delicious looking recipes in the process, you can see them on my pinterest

I am about to watch The Adjustment Bureau. I hope it's good! It looks pretty interesting. But, speaking of interesting, I have something else to share with you. I have been reading David Sedaris' Barrel Fever and other stories and have fallen in love with the story After Malison. Please read it. It's about the so-called "transparency" of people and I definitely could relate. His writing is supreme. I can't get enough.

So I have a ton of pictures I wanted to post, but I think I need to start spreading them out. My goal is to start having a post every day but Sunday. I guess that means I have to engage in blog-worthy activities every day. Sounds like a rewarding challenge.

"He [Jesus] is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only ours, but also for the sins of the whole world."
1 John 2:2
That's the Gospel right there. What a wonderful God, that He would give His son to take the wrath we all deserve.

Peace.

I hope you all are having a wonderful wednesday. My mouth is feeling much better now, so expect an outfit post soon. I thought I would mention some of my recent beauty product purchases. But first, my cat.

Ok, new favorite lipstick. Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Romance. A fantastic everyday color. I was iffy about buying Chanel's new shine collection. I am not a big lipgloss wearer, but I have been converted. It is so easy to wear and apply!
Some other things I am obsessed with: Laura Mercier Lip Silk, Bumble and Bumble Texture Creme (with my hair, I need all the texture I can get), Kiehl's Ultra Facial Moisturizer (light and easy), Bare Minerals Mineral Veil (who doesn't love this stuff?), and Burt's Bees Deep Cleansing Cream
I saw this picture on tumblr last night. It truly resonated with me for some reason. There is nothing I'd rather do than sit on a bench, reading a fantastic novel, with nothing in front of me but a beautiful lawn and an extraordinary, timeless building.

Lately I have been wondering if I should become an English major. Currently I am studying Public Relations. There's nothing wrong with it. In fact, I am almost guaranteed to have work. The world will always need PR. But is it for me? I love reading and writing. I want to go places, and document my experiences. I feel most comfortable when I am typing my heart out on this keyboard (which is burning my fingers right now, as I am sitting by the pool). I love learning. There are so many subjects I would study if I had the chance, and the time. I think English can give me that. Or at least a part of it. I'm not sure if PR will take me in the direction that holds all I want to do in this life. I also have been thinking about the kinds of people I will encounter. In PR one never represents himself, it is always a person or a company. I want to represent me, and in the process, learn a little more about this "me." And the people I meet are on the same journey. To figure out who they are, and communicate to others how they see this chaotic world in which we live.
Just some thoughts. What do you think?

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, with prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."
Philippians 4:6

Uncapped.

So when I mentioned in yesterday's post that I had places to go and people to see, I meant it.
I went to a Vitamin Water fashion show in downtown Raleigh which was really fun! But even better, I got to catch up with some awesome friends.
Right by the location of the show, which happened to be a church, was a cemetery. It had been greatly affected by the tornado. I had posted some pictures before. But this is more damage from trees.

 Silly girls.

It was a great show, I was amazed at some of the designer's technique and originality.

Taylor at the fire station!
Thanks Tay for taking the pictures of me.
We all had a great time. We have all done so many things on our own this year and it's so fun hearing about everyone's lives after high school. I've been feeling very old lately. It's hard growing up. The more experiences you have, the more there is to miss.
Ok, my bit of nostalgia is over.
How do you like my new banner and color scheme? I saw Carolina City Girl's new look and thought I needed to do some sprucing up as well.

"Let the king be enthralled by your beauty;
honor him, for he is your lord."
Psalm 45:11

God is ENTHRALLED by all of us!! How lucky are we, that our Creator can do nothing but look at us and smile.

Hen Feathers.

Greetings. I am on the homestretch of healing from this awful wisdom teeth surgery, I believe. Yesterday I actually got out of the house and sat with my mom as she judged a little local horse show. That was fun aside from my face still being puffy and a little painful. After the show we went to the cutest boutique in Mebane, NC called The Elegant Relic. Follow them on twitter here! Downstairs they have an eclectic collection of decor and upstairs is it's own shop called Hen Feathers with a fantastic selection of dresses and other clothes.

I wore one of the dresses I bought to church today. I am still puffy and don't want any close up pics so here's what I have for today!

Isn't it beautiful? And so comfortable. Dresses like this one are the best kind. The brand is RYU. Worn with my Jeffrey Campbell "Litas." I also got something I've been wanting for quite a while at the shop. It's a hip-pouch. Is there another name for it? Please let me know.
But oh my gosh how handy and cute! It's a little big but nothing a leather hole-punch can't solve. The perks of having a horse.
So all this bed-rest I've had lately has really given me a chance to explore the blog world. I am so excited about finding all these cool people's blogs. I want to say thank you to all those who have been commenting recently. It means so much to me, and it is such an encouragement! I am loving blogging more every single day. I am so thankful for all of my followers!

The church service today was wonderful. They played some of my favorite songs, and the sermon was just right.
"His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires."
2 Peter 1:3-4
With Him we have EVERYTHING we need in life. We have NOTHING to fear! How great is that?

Follow me:

Have a wonderful evening!
