Red Check.

My son, do not despise the Lord's discipline
and do not resent his rebuke,
because the Lord disciplines those he loves,
as a father the son he delights in.
Proverbs 3:11-12
It's easy to think that the Lord disciplines us out of dislike or disappointment. This verse is so encouraging to me. I need to remind myself constantly of His love for me and the fact that He DELIGHTS in me. When He shows me something that I've done wrong, it's only because of His love for me.

I do love sunny winter days. Though, referencing yesterday's post, I have been craving some hot summer weather. It's time for this cold to be over. Once again, a variation of the "uniform" from which I can't seem to break free.

Have a great day, everyone. It's almost Friday!

All I want.

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
1 Corinthians 10:13
Thank you for never giving us more than we can handle. And thank you for seeing us through it. Whatever it may be.

My Weekend.

He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.
    And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
    and to walk humbly with your God.
Micah 6:8

 Meet Emmie. The cutest, spunkiest filly around. She's almost two weeks old and loves to run, jump over puddles, and nibble your nose.

I loved going home this weekend and seeing all our animals.
I'm so glad I will be spending the summer here.
Have a great Monday!

Pretty Knit.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 15:13
There's power in the Spirit. I need to remember this.

I've had this sweater for a few years now, but it's still one of my favorites. I love the unique details on the neck and the hem. It's just full of surprises.

sweater--Anthropologie
jeans--Marc by Marc Jacobs

Have a great day!

Bits of my weekend.

And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.
Acts 13:52

A little odd to be having a weekend post on a Wednesday, but better late than never! Last weekend I went to Province for Kappa Kappa Gamma in Orlando. Several other EKs and I attended workshops and met other Kappas from the Southeast. It was such a fun experience!

Have a great Wednesday, everyone!

The Scarf.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Matthew 5:4
I have to thank a sweet friend for sending me this verse. I also have to thank the Lord for friends. One of the best examples of Christ's love on earth.

 This scarf is one of my favorites. It's huge and so soft. I could wear it every day and also use it as a blanket. What a beautiful invention. Anyways, yet another variation of my "uniform". That is--button down, jeans, boots, scarf. It's a great formula, don't you think?

Have a great day, y'all.

Bits of My Weekend.

Psalm 142
I cry aloud to the Lord;
    I lift up my voice to the Lord for mercy.
I pour out before him my complaint;
    before him I tell my trouble.
When my spirit grows faint within me,
    it is you who watch over my way.
In the path where I walk
    people have hidden a snare for me.
Look and see, there is no one at my right hand;
    no one is concerned for me.
I have no refuge;
    no one cares for my life.
I cry to you, Lord;
    I say, “You are my refuge,
    my portion in the land of the living.”
Listen to my cry,
    for I am in desperate need;
rescue me from those who pursue me,
    for they are too strong for me.
Set me free from my prison,
    that I may praise your name.
Then the righteous will gather about me
    because of your goodness to me.

I am so thankful for David and this Psalm today.

This weekend was a great one. It consisted of an awesome wedding, RIF fun, Dexter, spending time with beautiful friends, and breaking my personal record by running 4.3 miles without stopping. I am so glad I finally have some pictures to share. Most of them are of the sparklers when the newlyweds were leaving. Sparklers photograph so well, I couldn't pick just one.

Have a great Monday, everyone.

Since I've Been Gone...

Even if I should choose to boast, I would not be a fool, because I would be speaking the truth. But I refrain, so no one will think more of me than is warranted by what I do or say, or because of these surpassingly great revelations. Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
2 Corinthians 12:6-10
What a beautiful verse that has recently resurfaced in my life.

Hi friends. Once again, sorry for the disappearance. This semester is a busy one, not allowing for a lot of outfit posts. I promise I will figure out a way to work in at least 3 a week. That's my goal. But I needed some time to regroup, to figure out this new schedule. I have some cool things going on in the next couple weeks that I can't wait to share with y'all! Until then, here is a picture of some of the wonderful ladies in my Lifegroup on Super Bowl Sunday!
