Summer Sweater.

Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires.
    Galatians 5:24
What a beautiful thing. With Christ, our sinful nature no longer controls us.

short-sleeve sweater- anthropologie
high-waisted shorts- Zara
snakeskin flats- Sam Edelman

I think I may be in possession of the perfect summer sweater. It is so soft and wonderful, and I love the volume at the bottom. Living in the south, a piece like this will carry me well into fall. And maybe even the sort-of winter we have. I love the details, I love it all.

Inspiration Saturday.

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.
    2 Corinthians 5:21
One of my favorites. This is truth.

Today I Wish...

Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing. Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
This is the #shereadstruth memory verse for the week. I love the phrasing. Easy to remember and apply when we feel far from Him. I have been pondering what it means to "pray without ceasing". Any comments or tips? Have a wonderful Thursday.

Today I felt like going with a calm, easy outfit. Pastels and elegant basics with a little edge.
This is what I wish I was wearing.

Chloé silk top, $550 / Ksubi blue skirt, $93 / ASOS chunky shoes / Yves Saint Laurent tote handbag / Pop H

In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.
   Matthew 5:16

Sorry for this very quick post. I haven't worn any outfits worth posting and my google reader is out of control. I just thought I would share this AWESOME video. Please watch.

Until tomorrow...

Inspiration Saturday.

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

Spa Day.

Seek good, not evil, that you may live. Then the LORD God Almighty will be with you, just as you say He is.
    Amos 5:14

I am headed to the Spa at Pinehurst for my Dad's birthday. Happy early birthday, Daddy (it's tomorrow). I love you!
Prepare yourselves for a big ol' inspiration post tomorrow!

Outdoor Sauna.

For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, 5 because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer.
1 Timothy 4:4-5

jewelry- vintage

Lately going outdoors has felt like entering a sauna. I don't want to wear anything other than loose tops and shorts. Perks of living in the South. I love it all, though.

all my dreams, my dear, they are of you.

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.
Hebrews 11:1

If you didn't already know, the Milo Greene album came out yesterday. I have been playing it on repeat since I woke up yesterday morning. You all need to buy it. The song "Cutty Love" is my favorite so far, though they're all fantastic.

But let all who take refuge in You be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread Your protection over them, that those who love Your name may rejoice in You.
    Psalm 5:11
Finding refuge in the Psalms today.

I want this bag. It is the perfect college-person tote. And I love the mustard color. They come in other colors, too. Thank you Madewell for carrying these unique bags. They have been added to my wish list

That's all for today. I hope you all are getting through your Mondays with ease.

Inspiration Saturday.

But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
    Romans 5:8

I am spending this weekend at a horse show. I wouldn't have it any other way. However, I wish I looked as awesome as the people in these pictures do when it's sweltering outside.
Just a few summer inspiration photos.

Madewell in Durham.

And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His  love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us.
    Romans 5:5

Today the Madewell store in Durham opens. Unfortunately I can't go, I have to get a root canal. Bleh. I will be visiting in the very near future, however. I am so excited to finally go to the store. I am in love with everything they do. I decided to make a little polyvore set of some of my favorite pieces. Here it is, my Madewell outfit for today.

Let It Go.

Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.
    1 Peter 5:7

shirt- Mom's
belt- from Sak's, old
culottes- from Hen Feathers in Mebane, NC
slingback oxfords- Urban Outfitters, old

Lately I've felt like the master of making old pieces of clothing feel new again. I've worn this shirt a bazillion times. It was my go-to shirt while I was studying in Italy, as you all probably could tell. And these shoes, please forgive me for the scuff marks. I've had them since high school and they have never let me down.

This post is titled after a song with which I am currently obsessed. Here it is, for your own personal enjoyment. It comes with an adorable music video.

Have a wonderful day.

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
Hebrews 11:6

 Happy Tuesday, says the cat.

First Friday.

In the morning, O LORD, You hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before You and wait in expectation.
    Psalm 5:3

Last Friday my friend Taylor had her artwork and photography displayed in a hair salon in downtown Raleigh called Alter Ego. It was part of an event that takes place on the first Friday of every month in which local artists and galleries display their work in a gallery walk. It's called First Friday
Below are some of her pieces displayed. They'll be up all of July!

Happy Birthday to my beautiful sister, Olivia! I hope you have a fantastic birthday! I love you very much.

Happy Fourth!

Happy Fourth of July, everyone! I hope you all have some fun things planned today!
I am on the list for a daily bible verse email and today I received a very special devotional that I wanted the share with everyone. It is so enlightening!

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.” – Psalm 33:12

“You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love” – Galatians 5:13 NIV

“It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor.” – George Washington

“We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” – John Adams

“And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are of the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that His justice cannot sleep forever.” – Thomas Jefferson

“ I’ve lived, sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth: ‘That God governs in the affairs of me. If a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid?’ We’ve been assured in the sacred writings that unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it.” – Benjamin Franklin

“America needs God more than God needs America. If we ever forget that we are One Nation Under God, then we will be a nation gone under.” – Ronald Reagan

Let Freedom ring in and through you… It is for freedom that we have been set free. If the Son has set you free… you are free indeed!

“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”- Galatians 5:1 NIV

And here are some inspiring, patriotic posts I wanted to share with you!

Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
