Fairly American.

As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.
    James 2:26
I love this. Faith is nothing until we act on it. Until we actually live it.

It was such a beautiful week here. I was so excited to finally wear short sleeves! Here's one of the outfits I wore to class and around.
shirt-Mom's
pants-Zara
shoes- Dr. Marten's

United Nations.

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
    Galatians 2:20
Beautiful. I want to remember this always.

Sorry I have disappeared this week. The weight of all these photos through which I needed to sort was so unappealing. But now it is time I give you some updates! Here are some pictures of my visit to the UN while in Geneva.
But first...

 French pastries are incredible.
Ok, now for the UN.

Some pretty important stuff goes on in those buildings. I was so glad to see where it all happens!
A local meal in Geneva, Filet de Perche. It was delicious!

My first guest post!

Please read this great article about helping women to feel beautiful when they are battling with cancer!

Confidence in Fashion
By: Jackie Clark

Fashion has this magical way of making a woman feel good in an instant. When a woman has a bad day and needs to blow off steam and make herself forget about the hardships and annoyances she faced that day; she goes shopping. When she has something to celebrate, she goes shopping. Fashion, particularly high fashion, has a way of making women feel that she can accomplish anything. Looking good and feeling good go hand in hand and that is why fashion and women get along so well especially during challenging times in a woman’s life.

When a doctor diagnoses a woman with mesothelioma cancer and tells her she will need to undergo treatment to fight her battle, she feels a rush of emotions that can run the spectrum in terms of feelings, ultimately putting fashion on the back burner. However, this is the last thing women should do! Instead they must remember their inner beauty and continue to bring it outward.

Using high fashion is a great way for a woman to feel instantly more beautiful, which in turn makes her feel more confident and more powerful. Clothing has a way of making women feel this way. Whether it is a gorgeous dress that she is planning to wear to celebrate her first successful chemotherapy treatment or a pair of jeans that fit just right, the perfect outfit can have a woman feeling like a superstar, which will make her confidence level rise and her powerful feelings come back. This will help her to fight her cancer as she goes through treatment.

To add a little beauty and glamour to a woman’s life, accessories are a great invention. From gorgeous jewelry to the perfect designer shoes or even just a simple scarf in a bright, happy color, accessories can make a woman feel instantly more beautiful, despite the fact that she is living with cancer. No matter what a woman’s diagnosis may be she must remember that cancer can’t take away her beauty. Beauty comes from the inside and fashion allows her to show how confident and powerful she can be despite challenges. Grab that little black dress and head to the doctor’s with a head held high. Cancer shouldn’t define a woman. Instead she should define cancer.

Verbier.

Psalm 130
Out of the depths I cry to you, LORD;
 Lord, hear my voice.
Let your ears be attentive
   to my cry for mercy.

If you, LORD, kept a record of sins,
   Lord, who could stand?
But with you there is forgiveness,
so that we can, with reverence, serve you.

I wait for the LORD, my whole being waits,
and in his word I put my hope.
I wait for the Lord
more than watchmen wait for the morning,
more than watchmen wait for the morning.

Israel, put your hope in the LORD,
for with the LORD is unfailing love
and with him is full redemption.
He himself will redeem Israel
   from all their sins.
I read this psalm this morning. It is certainly one of my favorites. It is so beautifully written. If He kept a record of sins, NONE of us could stand. But He is so full of grace. I am so thankful. Lord, I want to wait for you and you alone.

On Friday we went to a ski resort called Verbier. It was so breathtaking. The sky was clear, the mountains were unreal. I was in shock at the views. I found myself almost losing my balance whilst skiing because I was paying more attention to the mountains than the slopes before me. It was an incredible experience.

We ate lunch at a restaurant by one of the slopes.

I had real Swiss fondue in the Alps!!!! It was a fantastic day.

Nyon.

For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
    Ephesians 2:10
God prepared in ADVANCE for us. He has such wonderful plans for us. We only have to trust in Him.

Here are some photos I took in the village of Nyon. Where I am staying, with my fantastic cousins, is actually in Nyon. One of the villages on the outskirts of Geneva.

I have seen so many people riding here and I was ecstatic to see saddles and bridles being made! (I miss you, Hardy

So beautiful.

Geneva.

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
    Colossians 2:6-7
I want to live this, but only with His help can I actually do it.

Here are my first photos in Geneva! This is such a cool city. It is so clean and friendly. The city is fairly big but so beautiful. I love it here.

I hadn't seen one of these in a while!

My cousin Zoe and me in front of the clock!
 And ordering delicious crepes

So, a bunch of random photos, most of which lack captions. Sorry about that, I guess that's becoming a theme. But I am super tired. Today I biked through the countryside with my cousin and it was so wonderful! However, now it is time for sleep.
