Roses and Horses in Boboli Gardens.

"'Come, follow me,' Jesus said, 'and I will make you fishers of men.'"
Matthew 4:19
Follow Him. He is the way! I love the strength I find in Jesus. I may not have all the answers, but I know that my God loves me enough to send His son to die for me. And to find the satisfaction not found in this world all I have to do is follow Him! I am so thankful for Him.

vest-- David Kahn; shirt and pants-- Zara; shoes-- Dr. Marten's

Today Jackie (who took these pictures, thanks Jackie!) and I ventured to the Boboli Gardens. Before coming to Italy I posted about how I wanted to see this beautiful place. It is even more amazing in person, a common characteristic of most of Italy as I am learning.
Yesterday I finally bought something from Zara, after weeks of dreaming. I fell in love with this horse-head printed shirt. So me. It makes me feel a little better about being so far away from my horse. And pastels are so huge this season I had to get me some light pink jeans.
And the Dr. Marten's. I have wanted some for so long. A pain in my right foot pushed me to buy them. I guess walking a minimum of three miles around Florence every day in flat soled riding boots isn't the best idea. These have saved me.
The weather was perfect, in the 60s. At times I even had to take my vest off! I am so glad this cold spell is over, (*knock on wood*) it was pretty rough.
Tomorrow I go to Venice! This is not real. I don't believe any of it. I will be taking pictures like a typical tourist so prepare yourselves. I am also making a post of the photos not of me taken at the gardens to post tomorrow so check that out!

You became imitators of us and of the Lord; in spite of severe suffering, you welcomed the message with the joy given by the Holy Spirit.

Craving Warmth.

Every day I walk past Zara, H&M, and several other beautiful stores filled with Spring/Summer clothes. I try to divert my eyes and remind myself that no one would see my adorable outfit underneath the layers of sweaters and my trench coat. It is so cold here. I just want it to be warm. Sometimes I go into Zara anyways; I can't help it. I am in love with the entire collection. I dream up outfits, picture myself walking to class in them, in the warm weather that seems to have forgotten about us. I just want it to be warm. Here are some of my favorite pieces from the Spring/Summer Zara collection.

I especially love the shoes. All the details are so unique and wonderful.

Then he (Jesus) said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
Matthew 9:37-38 (NIV)

I read this verse this morning. At first I didn't understand it. The wording is a little confusing. So I looked up the ESV translation as well.

Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” (ESV)

This translation is a little more clear. God wants us to look to Him so that we can see the world through His eyes. The harvest is plentiful. So many need Him, but we need Him to show us.

I prayed this morning for God to show me the harvest. To show me what I need to be doing. It is so easy for me to get distracted. Take, for example, the photos above. I am so easily distracted by clothes and what this world says I need. When truly all I need is Jesus. It is so much easier to say it than to live it. Pray with me that God show us what He desires of us. That we may do His will and not our own. And that we look to Him for strength instead of ourselves, because we can do nothing on our own. Earlier in the passage Jesus performs several miracles, right before people's eyes. He can do the same for us; however, we must have faith.

Comfy Cozy.

It's about time I had an outfit post!
I am so glad to be reunited with my fall wardrobe. This season I am obsessed with shapeless silhouettes and drop-waists. It reminds me so much of the 1920s. However, being the short person I am, I have always leaned towards high-waists and more figure-flattering outfits. I am branching out now, I hope you like!
Happy Monday!

Blessed be Your glorious name, and may it be exalted above all blessing and praise.
