Roses and Horses in Boboli Gardens.

"'Come, follow me,' Jesus said, 'and I will make you fishers of men.'"
Matthew 4:19
Follow Him. He is the way! I love the strength I find in Jesus. I may not have all the answers, but I know that my God loves me enough to send His son to die for me. And to find the satisfaction not found in this world all I have to do is follow Him! I am so thankful for Him.

vest-- David Kahn; shirt and pants-- Zara; shoes-- Dr. Marten's

Today Jackie (who took these pictures, thanks Jackie!) and I ventured to the Boboli Gardens. Before coming to Italy I posted about how I wanted to see this beautiful place. It is even more amazing in person, a common characteristic of most of Italy as I am learning.
Yesterday I finally bought something from Zara, after weeks of dreaming. I fell in love with this horse-head printed shirt. So me. It makes me feel a little better about being so far away from my horse. And pastels are so huge this season I had to get me some light pink jeans.
And the Dr. Marten's. I have wanted some for so long. A pain in my right foot pushed me to buy them. I guess walking a minimum of three miles around Florence every day in flat soled riding boots isn't the best idea. These have saved me.
The weather was perfect, in the 60s. At times I even had to take my vest off! I am so glad this cold spell is over, (*knock on wood*) it was pretty rough.
Tomorrow I go to Venice! This is not real. I don't believe any of it. I will be taking pictures like a typical tourist so prepare yourselves. I am also making a post of the photos not of me taken at the gardens to post tomorrow so check that out!

Alexander McQueen First Runway Show Finale.

How incredible? I would love to have been there. Everything about that show was fantastic: the clothes, the leaves, AND THE FINALE.

Enjoy.

Jazzy.

You will keep in perfect peace
him whose mind is steadfast,
because he trusts in you.
Trust in the Lord forever,
for the Lord, the Lord, is the Rock
eternal.
Isaiah 26:3-4

Perfect peace. There cannot be anything better than that. Lord, help me to trust in you. I want to feel your perfect peace.

note: I wrote this post (aside from this addition) this morning. I decided to wait to post it until it was a little later in the States, as most of my readers live there. I began to get ready for class when I realized my power converter had broken. It must have been when I plugged the hairdryer into it this morning. Frustrated and disappointed, I put on my boots. As I was zipping them up, the zipper completely broke. Now angry, I threw my boot on the floor, put on my other boots (not waterproof like the first pair; it was raining) and, holding back tears, headed to class to take an Italian quiz. God pulled a fast one. Or rather, allowed Satan to pull a fast one. And it worked for a while. I was drowning in self-pity, walking to class, failing to marvel at the Duomo unlike normally when I remembered this verse. "Perfect peace" was oh so distant. This morning I was so ready to have "perfect peace". Of course, everything was good. But the Cross is not about peace when things are comfortable. It's about constant, steadfast peace when nothing seems to be going right. He is the Rock and nothing else. Funny how He works, sometimes.

So here's an outfit I wore on Friday night. Leah and I went to what we thought was a jazz club. It ended up being more of a restaurant with a jazz band playing. It was wonderful, all the same. We split some delicious tiramisu and asked the waitress which dessert wine with which we should pair it. It was a great night full of meaningful conversation and basking in the beauty that is the city in which we live.

Karlie Kloss Topshop Film.

This video is epic. It's Topshop celebrating ten years of supporting British fashion, starring Karlie Kloss. I am obsessed with the model, as I have mentioned before. She's incredible. This video just reassures me of that fact.

Prepare for Pisa photos. I'm posting them later today.
