A Resolution.

 shirt: Urban Outfitters; skirt: Anthropologie

Here are my pictures from New Years Eve! I wish I had taken more. It was so much fun, full of party hopping and wonderful people!

Here's a verse that reminds me this year has purpose.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Jeremiah 29:11

In retrospect many years can seem pointless or full of regrets, but God has a plan. He is perfect. He is the Creator and He has plans for all of us. We have hope in Him.
May you face 2012 with His hope.

Deb Weekend 2011

All last weekend I was attending parties, luncheons, and dancing the night away. It was the 85th annual Debutante Ball and I was making my debut.
It was so much fun, I wish it would never end! But sadly, it had to, like most wonderful things. Now I am back at school. Life is so busy so this is a quick post. Enjoy the photos! More will be coming once the professional photographer sends us his proofs.

But when they [the disciples] saw Him walking on the lake, they thought He was a ghost. They cried out, because they all saw Him and were terrified. Immediately He spoke to them and said, "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid."
      Mark 6:49-50

Have a great week!

Hen Feathers.

Greetings. I am on the homestretch of healing from this awful wisdom teeth surgery, I believe. Yesterday I actually got out of the house and sat with my mom as she judged a little local horse show. That was fun aside from my face still being puffy and a little painful. After the show we went to the cutest boutique in Mebane, NC called The Elegant Relic. Follow them on twitter here! Downstairs they have an eclectic collection of decor and upstairs is it's own shop called Hen Feathers with a fantastic selection of dresses and other clothes.

I wore one of the dresses I bought to church today. I am still puffy and don't want any close up pics so here's what I have for today!

Isn't it beautiful? And so comfortable. Dresses like this one are the best kind. The brand is RYU. Worn with my Jeffrey Campbell "Litas." I also got something I've been wanting for quite a while at the shop. It's a hip-pouch. Is there another name for it? Please let me know.
But oh my gosh how handy and cute! It's a little big but nothing a leather hole-punch can't solve. The perks of having a horse.
So all this bed-rest I've had lately has really given me a chance to explore the blog world. I am so excited about finding all these cool people's blogs. I want to say thank you to all those who have been commenting recently. It means so much to me, and it is such an encouragement! I am loving blogging more every single day. I am so thankful for all of my followers!

The church service today was wonderful. They played some of my favorite songs, and the sermon was just right.
"His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires."
2 Peter 1:3-4
With Him we have EVERYTHING we need in life. We have NOTHING to fear! How great is that?

Follow me:

Have a wonderful evening!

Timeless.

A few weeks ago my mom and I went to one of her favorite boutiques in Wendell, NC. It is called Kannon's Clothing, a family owned store passed down through generations. The people working there are so wonderful and have grown up with my mom, and seen me grow up as well. One of the ladies there was so kind to show me these shoes she has kept through the years. They belonged to her Aunt, bought in California around 1962. At the time they were $120. Aren't they elegant? They were so narrow, though, that I could barely fit my toes in! And I have fairly average feet width-wise. I wish so badly that I could have lived in that time. Something was different about life back then, it just seemed so full of wonder and beauty.

This whole wisdom teeth thing is no fun. My medicine just began to kick in again and I am struggling to keep my eyes open. Let me just leave you with this:

"Your words have supported those who stumbled;
you have strengthened faltering knees."
Job 4:4

God uses our struggles! Not only for the strengthening of our own faith and teaching, but also so that we can help others who are going through similar circumstances! Let Him show His good and He will blow your mind! God, you are higher than any other.
